Self Help & Woodland Burials

Some families wish to have a greater personal and practical involvement in carrying out the funeral. In such cases we are willing to provide any part of our range of services and products separately, without us necessarily being further involved in the funeral. An estimate covering any required item can be provided, without obligation.

We maintain details of various woodland burial sites and can obtain current burial costs on request. The Natural Death Centre is also able to offer further advice to those wishing to organise alternative funerals.

Charges

Private ambulance service
Base to base, with driver only. This assumes that the family wishes to physically handle the uplifting of the deceased. (Price quoted is per hour or part of)	£150.00
Base to base, with full removal team (Normal hours: Mon-Fri 9.00am - 5.00pm) (Price quoted is per hour or part of)	£185.00
Additional cost for ambulance outside of normal working hours. (Price quoted is per hour)	£115.00
Mortuary Refrigeration	£120.00

Embalming	£185.00
Normal arterial embalming and care of the deceased up to three days.

All ambulance prices quoted above include the use of any of the correct lifting and carrying equipment, disposable gloves, bags, aprons or disinfectants.

Product Charges

Chipboard Coffins	£250.00
No hardwood content. The coffin is supplied without fittings, interior or nameplate. It is ideal for painting by the client. Our entire range of fitted coffins and caskets is available at the current price as shown in our price list.
Eco Coffins	£360.00
Subject to approval of the Cemetery or Crematorium.
Disaster Bags	£105.00
'Body Bags' heavy gauge plastic bags, full length zip. 7'3" x 2'10".
Name Plates	£45.00
To supply and engrave a standard plate.
Hearse with driver only	£395.00
Includes the first two hours (base to base) (Price quoted is the minimum)
Additional Staff	£135.00
